O1 is an oil-hardening, cold-work steel consisting of chromium, manganese and tungsten. A "non-shrinking" steel, O1 is known for its combination of strength, hardness and wear resistance. Since the tungsten and higher chromium content allow for improved wear resistance over the straight manganese grades, products made with O1, like tools and dies, offer impressive value.
